The free web and mobile tool to generate citations, reference lists and bibliographies

RefME http://www.refme.com is the world's #1 tool for automating citations, reference lists and bibliographies, on mobile and web (RefME.com).  The app is FREE!
  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8LsaLVS2Ws Generate citations by scanning book or journal barcodes using your phone’s camera.
  • No Barcode? Search by Book/Article Title, ISBN, ISSN, DOI or URL.
  • Citing a website? Simply paste in the URL or use RefME.com, which syncs with the app and is perfect for websites.
  • 7,000+ supported citation styles including APA, MLA, Chicago and AMA as well as most school/college-specific styles.
  • Add notes to your citations, both in the app and at RefME.com.
  • Export via Email or Evernote using the app.
  • Send your work straight to MS Word, EndNote and more from RefME.com.
It is painless to use.  There is no perfect solution, but RefMe might just be the solution you have and your students have been needing.

Go to the website or open the app and create your FREE RefME account.

A project is basically a folder for your citations.  In other words, you can organize your various projects in to the different folders, keeping multiple projects organized.   Add a reference by scanning the barcode on a book or other media or by manually adding.  Referencing is time consuming, especially for students and referencing a website in the proper format is a challenge and no one seems to know the exact format , RefME makes that easy too.   Please share with your grad students and if they would like to be included in theses resource emails, tell them to shoot me and email and I will add them to the list.

Export your list of citations in a variety of formats or create a Word document from the RefME website.

RefME is be a great tool to use for you research projects.  It is especially useful for those things that cannot leave the library.  I have tried quite a few citation apps, Easy Bib  Citation Machine and a host of others over the years, but RefME seems to be the best of the bunch.   I also love that it works on the web, and has an app, yeah, that makes my life easier. It even allows you export in a variety of formats including direct to MS Word.  I encourage you to give it a try.
