Resource Wednesday: Explain Everything Interactive Whiteboard and Screencasting App--ON SALE for teacher Appreciation Week

Explain Everything is the #1 Teacher App.  Normally $2.99, but on sale this week for teacher appreciation for only .99¢.

Don’t have an interactive Whiteboard in your classroom…….problem solved with Explain Everything!!

What is Explain Everything? It is a unique interactive whiteboard and screencasting tool used by over 1.8 million students and educators.

It is the app I use for making tutorials.  Students in DED318 learn to use interactive whiteboard apps, although, they are given options like Explain Everything, and a number of other free ones (Educreations, Showmen, ScreenChomp, Vittle, Doceri).  But, Explain Everything always comes out on top as the best interactive and screencasting app.

It is very simple to use and extremely powerful. Your iPad becomes a virtual interactive whiteboard that allows the you to record audio and visual information.  Visuals are movies, images, text, .pdf documents and anything you draw or write on the screen. You end up with a movie that can be exported to Google Drive, DropBox, Evernote, Youtube, your camera roll (Photos) and many, many more.

From Morris Cooke: This is the teacher specific perspective but Explain Everything also allows students to explore the possibilities of representing their level of understanding via screencasting. Thanks to Clay Reisler that leads the iPaddiction blog we can share similar information but this time in a more in-depth, step-by-step way. In a series of blog posts Clay Reisler described the process of integrating iPads with Explain Everything in the biology classes in Pulaski High.  Starting from Coaching Teachers and Teaching Students, through Exporting the Projects, and Lesson Reflections, ending at Students Reflection Survey he describes the process that both teachers and students went through to integrate the technology and what came out of it. That complimentary series of short articles shares a very valuable information for anyone that has questions regarding using Explain Everything by students. I encourage you to read the whole series as the final student survey speaks for itself.
